We do not conform to the traditional heteronormative gender roles in argentinian tango. That means everyone dances with everyone, regardless of gender, and we alternate who is leading and who is following. We find this makes the dance more playful and exciting – join us!

WORKSHOPS & SOCIAL DANCE

Every wednesday we meet at 17.00 - for a workshop or for practica (informal dancing). We offer workshops for both beginners and advanced (sometimes during the weekends). During our practicas everyone dances with everyone, regardsless of level, all are welcome!

Tango festival

Our annual queer tango festival 'Friends, Fjord and Tango' offers a friendly atmosphere with DJs playing a good variety of music, live music by the Oslo-based orchestra 'Tigertango', and dancing on the charming island of Gressholmen!

ABOUT US

Oslo Tango Queer was founded in 2010, and has been an important arena for queer people wanting to dance tango, as well as others who want to challenge the stereotypical roles by dancing both as leader and follower.
